Closing Year Events Tentatively Planned with Current Guidelines

Planning the close of the year and still maintaining traditional closing events this year is at the least very difficult. With the current guidelines, the following dates are set but are subject to change.
  • On May 15th the drive-up Rose Award Ceremony will take place in the faculty parking lot by the Cotton Garden at 2 pm. By invitation, each family will remain in their vehicle while the ceremony is held outside.
  • The Senior Award Ceremony will happen at the same time as scheduled on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 6 pm. The ceremony will be live-streamed and taped and the awards will be mailed to the recipients.
  • The Undergraduate Award Ceremony will be streamed on Monday, June 8th, at 6 pm.
  • The Senior Tea will take place in some form on Thursday, June 4th, at 1:45 pm depending on grouping size restrictions.
  • The Final Assembly will take place on Friday, June 5th at 1:30, probably in an electronic fashion (Zoom) as the traditional events can happen including the showing of the senior video.
  • June 5th is the last day of school.
  • Prom planning is taking place depending on group size restrictions in the month of June.
  • Graduation will be scheduled for Saturday, June 27th, at 7 pm. Depending on the State of Maine guidelines, graduation can potentially take place at one of three venues: East Lawn, Oakes Field, or at the Piscataquis County Ice Arena parking lot as a drive-up graduation. By scheduling graduation in late June the hope is that the guidelines will allow a large group event with physical distancing. Guidelines for graduation will be shared at a later date but, for example, if it is a drive-up graduation, each graduate will have one vehicle, two if there are step-parents that are part of your family unit, due to limited available spaces. Prior to the ceremony, a potential parade leading up to PCIA will be organized.
2020 Rose Award Recipients

The 89th Rose Award Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 15th, honoring the top 15% of the permanent members in the class of 2020. Usually, the recipients do not know about receiving this prestigious award because the ceremony is held in the midst of the school day. Obviously, circumstances have prevented this from happening. This is an annual Foxcroft Academy tradition started in 1931 by Headmaster Frank G. Stone. The students will receive their rose and medallion during this ceremony. Congratulations to Kylie Butts, Ethan Curtis, Megan Fuller, MacKenzie Harmon, Jacob Ireland Clark LaChance, Leyao Liang, Khanh Nguyen Phuong Le , Khanh Nguyen Quynh Le, Thuy Phuong Le, Jacob Raynes, Molly Rhoda, Kiet Vo, and Vy Vo. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2020 will be announced at the May 15th ceremony.

2020 Academic Hall of Fame Inductees

Foxcroft Academy is pleased to announce the newest inductees to be added to the FA Academic Hall of Fame. The Class of 2020 includes Douglas C. Smith ‘68 (College Professor), John Durham ‘76 (Orthopedic Surgeon), Lisa Margonelli ‘83 (Writer/Editor), Tim Blakely ‘92 (Lawyer), and Andy Lizotte ‘00 (Assistant U.S. Attorney). Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we are not able to have a full banquet and awards ceremony at this time for these worthy inductees, but we will be honoring them in the future. These five individuals join 53 others as members of the prestigious Academic Hall of Fame. Congratulations to the recip
