For Dover-Foxcroft voters, in-person voting will take place on November 3rd at the Dover-Foxcroft Municipal Building Gymnasium located at 48 Morton Ave., Dover-Foxcroft. Polling hours are from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm.

Both in-person and absentee voting are available for the November 3rd Election. Voters may cast an absentee ballot instead of voting in person to minimize interaction with others during this public health pandemic (COVID-19). Casting an absentee ballot is convenient and secure.

Absentee ballot requests are being accepted right now. Printed ballots will be available by early October, and we will issue your ballot as soon as possible after that date. We check all absentee ballot requests against the voter registration list to ensure that only one absentee ballot is issued to each voter.

These are the options available to you for voting by absentee ballot:

You can vote absentee in the town office. Office hours are: Mon., Thurs., and Fri. - 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Wed. - 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

If you'd like to take an absentee ballot out of the office, a request form must first be completed. Ballots can be returned in person or by mail to: Dover-Foxcroft Town Office, 48 Morton Ave. Suite A, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Postage will be pre-paid to return your absentee ballot. We have a drop box on the outside of the municipal building by the fron tentrance specifically for dropping off Dover-Foxcroft Absentee ballots only. The box is secure and can only be opened by a municipal clerk. You can leave your ballot in the drop box right up until the polls close at 8PM on Election Day.

You can make a telephone request for your own ballot to be mailed to the address you provide to the clerk. Call (207) 564-3318 To complete your application over the phone, we must speak to you directly. Voicemail requests will not be accepted. If we are not available to take your call, leave us a message and we will call you back.

You can request an absentee ballot online using the Secretary of State's web link: https://apps.web.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl

The statewide deadline to request an absentee ballot is by 4pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Please request and return your ballot early enough to allow for postal mail delivery time. Ballots must be returned to the municipal clerk by 8:00 PM on November 3rd Election Day.

Important, You must sign your name on the designated line on the back of your absentee ballot envelope.

You may register to vote at the town office or on Election Day at the polls. Please bring photo ID and proof of address. If you are already registered to vote, you do not need to present ID to cast your ballot.

We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the election or voter registration. <text>
DEXTER/DOVER-FOXCROFT – As much as COVID-19 has complicated everyone’s lives, it has boosted business for certain niche industries, including local farmers markets.

“Sales have been up from last year and we’ve seen a bunch of new customers,” said Mary Hoskins, owner of Cedar Hill Farm, about the Dexter Farmers Market. “I’m pretty sure some of it is pandemic related because we have had comments from customers about enjoying shopping outside and helping local farmers. We moved to a more visible location this year so that has had an effect, also.”

Gretchen Huettner, owner of Farm in the Woods, said that the Dover Cove Farmers Market is also doing well this spring. “We have been extremely surprised at the outpouring of support from our customers, and the number of new customers we have been seeing,” she said.

The number of people coming through the market has increased significantly, and for many vendors, sales figures are also up this season. “We had one vendor who said their opening day sales were more than double a typical Memorial Day weekend, and many of our vendors don’t have much remaining product at the end of the day,” Huettner said. “We are optimistic that this will bode for a wonderful summer for customers and vendors alike. Many of our vendors are making plans to increase their production and product offerings, as well. For those that grow produce, the season is off to a complicated start, but we are optimistic that by early July things will be looking really good.”

Farmers markets were deemed essential able to open as seemed prudent throughout the pandemic. The Dexter Farmers Market runs summers only and has seen no changes to its schedule. This year, the market moved to 445 Corinna Road, just past Brooks Tire. There are two regular vendors, “but several others attend as guests and we are always looking for more farmers to join us,” Hoskins said. The market runs from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays through mid-October.

The Dover Cove Farmers Market runs from Memorial Day weekend through the last Saturday in October on South Street near the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The weekend before Thanksgiving, the market reopens in the basement of the Thompson Free Library every other Saturday through the end of April – usually.

“We decided in March to close the winter market six weeks early,” Huettner said. “When we were faced with the unknown, it just seemed to make sense. Our market for March 14 was poorly attended, and we had four vendors for the winter, and every household had at-risk members.”

Both markets are taking steps to keep vendors and customers safe. “Vendors wear masks and we provide plenty of hand sanitizer and alcohol sprays for wiping surfaces,” said Hoskins. “We want our customers to feel comfortable and welcome.”

At Dover Cove, efforts to create more spacing were implemented. “Having traffic cones has helped us with distancing, and I feel like the parking lot is safer as a result, because cars seem to be slower pulling in and parking, so that is an added bonus,” said Huettner. Dover Cove customers may also preorder through individual vendors or the market’s Facebook page for minimal-contact shopping.

“We discussed many different things, but decided that supplying hand sanitizer and ample spacing for everyone would be some of the wisest precautions we could take,” she said. “Many of the vendors wear masks when they deem it necessary when dealing with customers, but we have respected everyone’s personal situations. We heavily discussed many of the other suggested precautions and decided that we really needed to leave it up to vendors on how they wanted to deal with their product and money.”

Their position, Huettner said, is that, “we are outside and most of us have tables in our booths that help us maintain distance between customers. According to the University of Maine and other sources COVID-19 has no links to or evidence of being spread through food so we felt comfortable with our choices for the market.”

On June 13, Dover Cove offered free masks to customers, courtesy of a “friend of the market” who sewed and donated an entire box of face coverings. “We were so thankful and happy to see people utilizing the resource if they needed them,” Huettner said. “This is a community effort and we are thankful for all of the support we have seen this season. We all love the market and in deciding what to do this summer, we didn’t want to lose that precious sense of community.”

Both the Dexter and Dover markets participate in the Maine Harvest Bucks program, which allows customers paying with EBT to collect matching “bucks” to spend on fruits and vegetables. Dover Cove has a few Frequent Buyer Cards left, which award shoppers $10 in Harvest Bucks after shopping at the market four times. Huettner said several vendors also accept WIC vouchers.

There are five regular vendors at Dover Cove. “Our vendor numbers for the summer are actually up,” said Huettner. “We have several guest vendors that have participated because their normal marketing options are closed. We had My Three Leaves join us late last year, and Maison de Chevre is new this season. We are trying to figure out how we can safely accommodate more vendors if they would like to participate, which is a wonderful problem to have!”

Dover Cove was given a break on fees this year due to the pandemic. “We have talked about moving because the $350 vendor’s fee from the town has been difficult to cover most years due to the fluctuations in vendor numbers and our other expenses,” said Huettner. “Our budget is pretty bare bones and many times vendors cover additional things because of that. This year we have been so grateful to the town for only charging us half of the normal fee, and we are hoping that if things can continue on the current trajectory it will mean that we are much more financially stable going into the future. It was a simple act of kindness on the town’s behalf, when we faced the unknown, that is making a huge difference for us this year.”

Dover Cove is missing the 4H Passport Program, which has been put on hold this summer. “We are hopeful that families will still come,” Huettner said. The program offered Veggie Vouchers to kids, sponsored by the Piscataquis Regional Food Center, the Piscataquis County Cooperative Extension Executive Committee, and Farm in the Woods. Organizers are trying to figure out how to offer Veggie Vouchers as a Dover Cove program this year, “in hopes that it will help us maintain the participation of local families at market. We all love to see the kids and the thought that goes into their shopping,” she said.</text>

<text>June 3, the Tuesday we started Curbside Service at TFL had that first day back to school in the fall feel. Or the first day at a new job. Because that’s what it was really. After two and half months of working at home, it was both comforting and strange to be back.

Figuring out how to work together and stay apart, what mask worked best—when it was ok to pull it down or remove it, when to wear gloves, learning all the new protocols and procedures.

We sort of nervously danced around one another as we got used to each other again in this very different world, but Greta had a plan in place, she showed us what to do, we asked questions, made mistakes, tweaked things, and kept going.

Turning the key to the book drop and finding a gazillion books inside—wow, the word had spread to start returning materials. We were off and running.

More patrons were placing holds through the catalog, a positive sign, while many called and asked us to check if we had a book (or books) they wanted or for recommendations on what to read next.

The process fell into place: pulling the holds list, collecting the items, calling patrons to tell them books were waiting for them, checking the books out, and placing them on the table. Before long we expanded our pickup hours to Tuesday-Friday 9-5.

The awkwardness and trepidation faded quickly once we saw so many smiles (or smiling eyes above masks) on familiar faces as we approached cars, carrying shopping bags filled with books—placing them in trunks and back seats.

They were glad to see us and even happier that they could hold actual books in their hands. And seeing that “New” sticker on the cover seemed to give them a much needed and appreciated boost.

Once again, we found ourselves surrounded by books, not just on shelves, spread out on tables too. The returns in quarantine, piled high on the table formerly reserved for puzzles. Our impressive antique display table turned into PPE central with masks, gloves, and cleaning supplies. Another table in front of it covered with pick-up orders—handwritten white slips in each.

Soon, the phone rang again. “I’m out in the parking lot,” said a friendly voice.

“Ok, I’ll be right out!” turned out to be slightly wishful thinking on my part as I struggled to put on rubber gloves in a speedy fashion. But Tom was at the ready, gloves on, books in the bag, walking out the door. Happily chatting with patrons, who like us, longed for a brief taste of the past in this uncertain new time.

              <text>July 13, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian/Student,

After a successful class of 2020 Graduation two weeks ago, I would like to update you on information concerning the opening of school on September 1st, 2020, which will be a new student day. I would like to caution that all information is fluid and can change quickly and I will communicate to you immediately if there are significant changes.

Of course, Foxcroft Academy’s goal is to open the Academy as safely as possible, using CDC guidelines and scientific best practices. With six-foot physical distancing in place, we are busily determining the capacity of each room, hallway passages, bathrooms, etc. to ensure that we do not exceed our safe capacity. We are doing our very best to obtain hand sanitizer, proper cleaning supplies, plexiglass barriers, and the necessary equipment to support a well cleaned Academy on a consistent basis. Protocols and procedures are being developed to guide our daily practices that will support in-person instruction. We are also coordinating with RSU 68, to help support families with students at SeDoMoCha and Foxcroft Academy. It is our goal that we have our students in-person as much as possible.

Here are important points that, at this time, will be in place:

All people inside the Academy will be wearing a mask. Each student will be provided with a cloth mask but would be allowed to bring one from home. A protocol will be in place for students who need a break from wearing a mask during the day. The science behind wearing a mask is very clear on the ability to lessen the spread of COVID-19.

All classes will have an online base, with in-person instruction supporting the curriculum. This is being done as students (boarding and day) may choose to stay home and in the likelihood of a case of COVID-19 occurring at school, the Academy will be closed for a quarantine period (a minimum of one week) and instruction can continue.

We are encouraging that if possible private transportation is used to come to school in lieu of busing. This may increase the ability to attend throughout the week and also free up busing for students who will need it as their primary transportation. This of course is voluntary.

There are many variables that need to be considered and they are changing almost weekly. I will continue to keep you posted and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. We will continue to work together to face the challenges in these historic times.

My best regards,

Arnold Shorey, Head of School</text>

              <text>Dear Parents/Guardians/Students,

We have reached the end of the year and I wanted to share information for a successful close, share some important dates, and plans for next year. I am very proud of the students and grateful for the community support.

School issued material can be returned to the Academy anytime now if the students have completed their courses. During next week, June 8th-12th, between 8 am and 4 pm, the materials can be returned by placing them in the container outside the gym lobby door. If you use this method please make sure the material is labeled with the student’s name. You can also “buzz” the door and Mrs. Smith will let you in and you can place the material on the table in the lobby. If you are unable to return the material, please contact Mrs. Smith and she will make arrangements for the material to be picked up.

Final Assembly will take place this Friday, June 5th, at 1:30 pm. We are using Zoom so that we can show everyone the senior slideshow. Also, seniors will be “willing gifts” as per tradition to undergrads. I have invited all students and staff and encourage you all to attend so that we honor our seniors who have lost the most during this pandemic. Speaking of seniors, your Senior Tea will take place on Thursday, June 11th, at 1:45 pm on campus on the front lawn and the east lawn, ensuring no group will exceed the size of fifty. Ames through LaChance will start at the front lawn site and Lemon through Willey will start at the east lawn site. There will be an exchange so that seniors will be able to see all of their classmates. Graduation, weather permitting, will take place on Saturday, June 27th, at 7 pm, and I am still in hopes that it will take place on Oakes Field. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Chief Reardon who has been very helpful.

The big question is, “What will next year look like?” We do not know but we are planning for three scenarios: online, blended, or in person. We are in hopes of starting on September 1st with all students. Of course, it depends on the State of Maine and CDC guidelines, but we want our students back. Students whose grades seemingly declined due to the change to remote learning will possibly be able to make up unmet standards and this consideration will be made on an individual basis.

We are in the midst of tumultuous times dealing with social unrest and a pandemic, which heightens the need for education. Please be watchful for communication about plans for the start of school in the fall. Students, I wish you all a very safe and healthy summer, but I can’t wait to get you back in school!

All my best,

Arnold Shorey</text>

<text>From the desk of the Head of School

Reflections on the Last Three Months/Planning for 2020

The faculty members of Foxcroft Academy were so happy to be able to come on Monday, June 8th to reflect on the close of the second semester and start the seemingly impossible task of planning for the fall of 2020. Here are some major points that have come to the forefront.

At the time of writing this report, 101 out of the 114 seniors have met all the standards and requirements for graduation with 11 seniors very close to meeting their standards for the June 27th graduation (so there is still time for the seniors to be in good standing). This was due to tremendous effort on the part of seniors and teachers, especially during the transition from in-person to remote learning.

The number of students able to participate in the boarding program this upcoming fall is in question, though we continue to receive applications and undergrad students plan to return if they are able to do so. We have some boarding students staying throughout the summer to ensure that they are able to return to school in the fall and not risk being unable to return from their country. This past spring, we were successful in having 40 boarding students remaining at Foxcroft Academy, restricted to the campus for over 12 weeks avoiding exposure to COVID-19. Quarantining and testing are in the plans for the future to properly screen students arriving at Foxcroft Academy before they enter the school population.

At the writing of this report, it appears to be possible to have an outdoor graduation on Oakes Field where graduates and immediate family members will be able to spread out wearing masks in the outdoors. Graduation will be on June 27th at 7 pm with a rain date scheduled for Sunday at 9 am. Dr. Mark Stitham ‘68 is the graduation speaker with Mr. Wayne Strout as the faculty speaker. Clark LaChance is the salutatorian and Ethan Curtis is the valedictorian. Senior Tea will take place this Friday (moved from Thursday due to the rainy forecast) at 1:45 pm on the east lawn and front lawn keeping the size of the group less than 50 at each site. Chief Reardon has been instrumental in working with Foxcroft Academy in helping these plans become a reality.

There are plans in place to support students whose grades have suffered due to the abrupt change from inperson instruction to remote learning. Each case will be considered on an individual basis with teacher and parent meetings. This summer there will be a Special Education credit recovery program, thanks to RSU 68, a Foxcroft Academy credit recovery program, and in conjunction with Principal Gudroe, the Freshman Academy will take place in late July for up to 15 eighth graders that will need to meet unmet standards before starting their freshman year (this will be the fifth year of the Freshman Academy to help with the transition from 8th grade to high school with a very good track record). In the fall, students will have the opportunity to make use of the academic support program to also make up unmet standards.

Planning for next year is a very difficult thing to do as we are unsure of CDC and State guidelines. We hope that we will be fully in session with all students present (all constituents want this). If remote learning is mandated, both teachers and students have three months of experience that we will continue to build upon. Monday’s inservice was spent on developing our best guess of what the school year will start like. We are anticipating that blended learning will be the model in place. This is the combination of using online learning in conjunction with in-person learning driven by physical distancing that will still need to be in place. Safety protocols will include: daily screening as students and staff enter the building, everyone wearing a mask, cleaning routines during the day and after school. Protocols and procedures guiding hallway traffic, bathroom use, lunchroom seating, locker room use, etc. Many variables need to be considered in scheduling students on a twice a week schedule such as access to science labs, in-person assessments, hands on activities (welding, small engines, etc.), students who need in-person support, siblings who attend SeDoMoCha, limitations due to traveling on the bus, etc. As you can see there are a lot of considerations and we will be communicating throughout the summer including possible Parent Advisory Council meetings as we are able to firm up the plans.

I cannot thank the students, parents, teachers, and our community enough for their Herculean efforts in adjusting to and supporting student remote learning. Collaboration and communication will still be needed as we adjust to the possibility of a blended learning model where flexibility and adaptability will be a must. I think we all can agree that we are fortunate to live where we do!</text>

<text>From the desk of the Head of School

Closing Year Events Tentatively Planned with Current Guidelines

Planning the close of the year and still maintaining traditional closing events this year is at the least very difficult. With the current guidelines, the following dates are set but are subject to change.

On May 15th the drive-up Rose Award Ceremony will take place in the faculty parking lot by the Cotton Garden at 2 pm. By invitation, each family will remain in their vehicle while the ceremony is held outside.

The Senior Award Ceremony will happen at the same time as scheduled on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 6 pm. The ceremony will be live-streamed and taped and the awards will be mailed to the recipients.

The Undergraduate Award Ceremony will be streamed on Monday, June 8th, at 6 pm.

The Senior Tea will take place in some form on Thursday, June 4th, at 1:45 pm depending on grouping size restrictions.

The Final Assembly will take place on Friday, June 5th at 1:30, probably in an electronic fashion (Zoom) as the traditional events can happen including the showing of the senior video.

June 5th is the last day of school.

Prom planning is taking place depending on group size restrictions in the month of June.

Graduation will be scheduled for Saturday, June 27th, at 7 pm. Depending on the State of Maine guidelines, graduation can potentially take place at one of three venues: East Lawn, Oakes Field, or at the Piscataquis County Ice Arena parking lot as a drive-up graduation. By scheduling graduation in late June the hope is that the guidelines will allow a large group event with physical distancing. Guidelines for graduation will be shared at a later date but, for example, if it is a drive-up graduation, each graduate will have one vehicle, two if there are step-parents that are part of your family unit, due to limited available spaces. Prior to the ceremony, a potential parade leading up to PCIA will be organized.

2020 Rose Award Recipients

The 89th Rose Award Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 15th, honoring the top 15% of the permanent members in the class of 2020. Usually, the recipients do not know about receiving this prestigious award because the ceremony is held in the midst of the school day. Obviously, circumstances have prevented this from happening. Though this is a decision I do not want to make, we live in extraordinary times that require extraordinary steps.

With this information, we are now able to plan for the close of the year and will share that information in the very near future. I would like to share some information as I know there are and will be, a lot of questions.

There will be an April Break from April 20th-24th. Students and teachers havebeen working very hard and all deserve a restful break.

The last day of school will be on Friday, June 5th.

Foxcroft Academy will be having professional development days on Monday, April 27th and Tuesday, April 28th. No school for students.

Coordination will take place to have student lockers cleaned out, the contents placed in a bag with the student’s name on it, and delivered to his/her home.

Work is being planned to ensure that many of our traditional activities will continue in a different form and we will announce the dates, times, and type offorum in the near future (Undergrad Awards Night, Senior Awards Night, etc.)

Though this is a good time to have a prom because of six-foot social distancing(a little humor), it is impossible to plan for this event at this time.

Today, senior leaders will meet with the Superintending Committee to request senior privileges, a long time tradition at least over the past ten years. There aren’t a lot of privileges to be had during remote learning, but it is important to not have the seniors miss out on their closing activities. My heart goes out to them. I am determined that graduation will take place but it will be later in the summer. There have been graduations at Foxcroft Academy for 197 years and that streak will remain unbroken.

Stay Well and Safe,

Arnold Shorey, Head of School</text>

              <text>April 2, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

With a new executive order delivered by Governor Mills on Tuesday afternoon, I would like toprovide you an update of what Foxcroft Academy is doing. For the past two and a half weeks, Foxcroft Academy has been operating on an “essential staff status” as we support student online learning as well as caring for the health and safety of 41 boarding students. Here are some reminders and information that will be in place until May 1st in accordance with theexecutive order.

The Governor stated that schools will stay closed at least until May 1st. In all likelihood, everyone should be prepared for online learning continuing for the rest of the year.

Foxcroft Academy is closed to the public which means students should not pick up ordrop off material. Through Rowell’s and Weymouth’s bus services, materials willcontinue to be picked up or delivered. Please continue to email Ms. Smith and Ms.Weatherbee to make arrangements. The lunch/breakfast pickup will continue between10 am and 12 noon, Monday, Wednesday, Friday at all of the same locations including Foxcroft Academy (10-11 am). Lunch and breakfast pick up will not take place during April break, April 20th - April 24th.

Unfortunately, and in compliance with the executive order, the Burns-Johnson Tennis Complex will be closed to not promote large groups and to continue social distancing. The track is closed between 2 pm and 7 pm for boarding students and dorm families touse. If you do use the track during the other hours please practice social distancing. Foxcroft Academy is proud to share its facility with the public, but during this crisis, our focus needs to promote best practices that prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Within the next few weeks, there will be official announcements concerning Spring sports and we are predicting that they will be canceled.

It is heartbreaking that these steps need to be taken and it is obvious that we all need to participate in similar actions to do our part to fight COVID-19. Teachers are reporting good participation and effort by the students in their online learning. Please keep in mind that all of our support services are in place and ready to assist students and families in any way that we can. We certainly want students to be actively engaged, but more importantly, we want your family to be well and safe. It is going to take all us working together and making sacrifices to overcome this pandemic.

All my best,

Arnold Shorey</text>

              <text>Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am writing to inform you that Foxcroft Academy in conjunction with RSU 68 will be closed starting on Monday, March 16, 2020, and will reopen on March 30, 2020, pending guidance from the CDC and the DOE. A great deal of scrutiny went into this decision, but in light of the new information concerning the importance of “social distancing,” it was decided that Foxcroft Academy should close.

We realize that this is a difficult time for families and students and Foxcroft Academy is dedicated to help and support in any way that we can. Communication is essential and we ask that you direct the students to check their student emails for information that will come from their teachers. Also, we will set up a Covid19 web page on our website, www.foxcroftacademy.org , so that you can better track correspondence that will periodically come from the Academy.

Information is rapidly changing and here are some major informational points that you need to know:

In conjunction with RSU 68 and Rowells transportation service, any family that wants to participate in the lunch program needs to email the Director of Food Services, Rhonda Tyler at rhonda.tyler@foxcroftacademy.org . Lunches will be delivered starting on Wednesday to “drop off” points in each community and the locations will be announced at a later date.

If your student needs material, such as an iPad, book, etc. they can come to the gym lobby to get the material between 8am until 3pm, Monday through Wednesday. If this is not possible, please contact the school and arrangements will be made to have the items delivered in some manner.

Once again, please have students monitor their student emails for guidance from their teachers.

If you are in need of the Internet, please contact the Director of Technology, Robert Brown at robert.brown@foxcroftacademy.org and we will try to assist as the State of Maine has announced a program that will provide free wifi in your home.

It is important that we all have patience and flexibility as we are in unfamiliar times. Foxcroft Academy is prepared to “walk our talk” and role model how to apply a growth mindset that we often implore our students to do. This means that we will learn a great deal through this experience, and through this knowledge, our focus is supporting the students and their families.

Sincerely,

Arnold Shorey, Head of School
Foxcroft Academy</text>

In writing this letter, I also understand that things can change quickly and we will use all of our social media platforms to communicate the latest information that may affect you and your students. In compliance with CDC recommendations, large group events are being canceled.

The Youth Wrestling Tournament that was scheduled to take place at Foxcroft Academy, tomorrow March 14, 2020, has been canceled.

Senior presentations that were to happen on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, have been postponed. Seniors, do not get excited as they will be rescheduled.

The Maple Sunday community breakfast scheduled for March 22, 2020, that was to be held at Foxcroft Academy is canceled.

The Maine Principals Association has delayed the start of Spring athletics until April 27th.

We will not do assemblies and will use the intercom system for announcements.

Foxcroft Academy has no plans at this time to close and will remain open as long as possible as per the guidance from the DOE and CDC. In the event that Foxcroft Academy does close for a period, we will use online instruction to continue student learning. Foxcroft Academy has the equipment, the expertise, and the tools to provide uninterrupted curriculum delivery and our faculty has been busily preparing for this possibility. We want the students to continue to have the opportunity to learn. If your family does not have access to the internet, please inform the Academic Office by calling 564-8351 and ask to speak to Ms. Weatherbee. We will make arrangements through the US mail delivery and/or telephone to support student learning. It does appear that free Internet may become available in the very near future. If this becomes necessary, more details will be provided.

During this historic time, flexibility is needed and Foxcroft Academy is prepared to offer the necessary flexibility to help our students. For example, attendance rules and protocols will be adjusted to support student absences for sickness or parental choice. The best practices that have been communicated for the past month of staying home if you feel ill, using proper coughing and sneezing techniques, washing your hands thoroughly and often, avoiding touching your face and eyes still apply, and now social distancing is recommended. As pseudo-parents to 70 boarding students, we have restricted travel of our students to be only in our region.

In difficult times in American history, we have always overcome major challenges by working together. This will be important for our community as we will undoubtedly overcome the Covid-19 pandemic by working together.

Thank you,

Arnold Shorey, Head of School</text>
